City String Ensemble is a modern and versatile string ensemble based in London. Originally formed at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, CSE has gone on to grow from a highly sought-after string quartet to a full-scale string orchestra.

Since 2016, they have been performing across London and the UK, establishing themselves as the ensemble of choice for many award ceremonies, celebrity parties and special events, including the world premiere of Bridgerton Season 2 in London.

Whether performing sold-out concerts, or for private events and weddings, CSE is passionate about delivering an outstanding level of performance with equal passion and enthusiasm.

City String Ensemble has performed over 350 candlelight concerts in London since 2021. These concerts have included many different genres, including tributes to artists such as Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Beyoncé and soundtracks of Disney, Studio Ghibli (Joe Hisaishi), James Bond and Hans Zimmer. 

With a unique performance style, CSE provides audiences with "experiences" they feel a part of rather than watching from afar, performing in a more inclusive and immersive setup rather than the approach of traditional classical concerts. CSE consider themselves a multi-genre quartet and are committed to making classical music more accessible and engaging, redefining the traditional concert experience and in turn, exposing new audiences to classical performances.

CSE have also released their own renditions of iconic songs from modern culture. With over half a million streams on Spotify alone, CSE also command their own fan base. They aim to record more music and in turn, perform to many more audiences that wish to see them perform live.
